Job Summary
Patient Reception Specialist at Harbor Health in Round Rock, TX, serving as the face of the clinics. Responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, preparing patients for appointments, informing them about services, communicating schedule details, maintaining clean waiting areas, obtaining insurance documents, performing demographic and insurance validation, scheduling appointments, collecting co-payments and balances, and supporting the care team to deliver a member-centered experience in a payvider model. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices, EMR proficiency, CPT/ICD-10 coding knowledge, strong customer service and communication skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred: experience in primary care settings and bilingual English/Spanish; current BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in medical terminology and insurance practices
- Proficient in use of computer programs and applications including Google Suite and practice EMR systems
- Competency in basic arithmetic
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective professional communication — verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as a team member while functioning independently
- Flexibility to shift priorities and maintain confidentiality
