Patient Placement Rep

Responsible for processing patient placement requests for all in-patient transfers and all points of entry into Palomar Health facilities (e.g., Emergency Department, Physician Offices, PACU). Receives requests for incoming patients and works with the accepting physician and nursing unit staff to identify the best available placement using the electronic bed board. Gathers information to assess placement capability and collaborates with Patient Financial Services and Clinical Resource Management to determine whether admission is for in-ppatient or observation status. Coordinates with the Patient Placement Supervisor as needed for clinically complex situations. Monitors and aims to meet established performance metrics for patient placement and throughput. Must read/write in English at a level sufficient to perform essential functions. Proficient with standard office equipment and computer software (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrate keyboarding skills. Performs other duties as assigned and adheres to Palomar Health policies and standards.
