Job Summary
Assist nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu by providing one-to-one observation with continuous visualization to ensure patient safety. Notify the nurse of any changes in physical or psychiatric conditions and initiate patient activities consistent with the nursing plan of care. Provide environmental and emotional safety through limit setting, physical holding, and restraining under RN direction, while maintaining a clean environment. Complete required documentation including observation forms and safety checks, and participate in teaching behavioral techniques like relaxation and coping skills. Collaborate with primary nurses for testing and consultations, and demonstrate reliable crisis management skills for aggression or unexpected situations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years prior experience preferred in Psychiatry and or related field preferred, working with specialized populations such as emotionally disturbed adults, adolescents and or children and families
- Proficient in English both verbally and written
- High School Diploma
