Job Summary
The Patient Observation Assistant is responsible for continuous observation of patients, reporting safety issues, and intervening in risky behaviors. Key responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living, communicating with care teams, and documenting patient interactions in electronic medical records. The role requires compassionate service and the ability to work closely with medical professionals during emergencies. Candidates must be 18+, have strong observational skills, and complete specified certifications within 30 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Ability to recognize and report data reflective of the patients' status and identify each patient's specific needs
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods
- Knowledge of the principles of growth and development through the life span
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
- Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of Crisis Management Course
