Job Summary
The Patient Navigator coordinates front office operations for the outpatient wound care center, greets patients, schedules and reminds appointments, verifies insurance including pre-certifications/pre-authorizations, enters charges in databases, assembles and maintains patient charts, coordinates ancillary testing and patient transportation, and supports staff with data accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum of Two (2) or more years office administration experience
- Prior medical coding experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good customer, interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Ability to type 60 words per minute (wpm)
- Basic math skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Team-oriented
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and to work on multiple projects
