Job Summary
Coordinate comprehensive care for patients in the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery division by serving as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and referring physicians. Build strong relationships with specialty groups while guiding patients through the surgical continuum, from referral and consultation to surgery and recovery. Provide individualized pre-operative and post-operative education, manage referrals to consultants and ancillary services, and initiate pre-authorizations for medications and treatments. Triage patients, obtain vital signs, and act as a chaperone for providers during office-based surgical and diagnostic procedures. Document all encounters in the EHR, complete required forms, and ensure adherence to regulatory policies. Travel to all clinical sites and referring community offices as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- RN
- BLS or other approved CPR courses
- recertification every 2 years
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and treatment protocols
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to those coordinating care for a patient
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts required for medication administration
- Travel to all clinical sites
- Travel to referring community offices as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum three or more years of gynecology, labor and delivery, or medical-surgical clinical experience
