Patient Navigator - Behavioral Health - Per Diem

Job Summary
Provides initial response to clients reaching out to the hospital, conducts initial assessment and triages crisis calls, schedules mental health appointments, verifies insurance coverage, registers patients in the system, and supports call-center inquiries. Collaborates with the team to determine appropriate services and referrals to contracted providers, enters registration and benefits data, and assists with communication and scheduling. Demonstrates knowledge of pediatric/adult patient needs and maintains confidentiality and professional boundaries; crisis line experience and familiarity with insurance plans are valuable. Per diem shifts include weekend coverage and variable hours (7:00am–3:30pm, with possible 3:30pm–11:00pm coverage).
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Behavioral Health or related field
- Three years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Health
- CPI certification within 90 days of start date
- Current CPR Certification from American Heart Association within 90 days of start date
- Healthcare or behavioral health experience
- Knowledge of insurance plans (commercial, managed care, capitated)
