Patient Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary
Coordinate air ambulance, critical care ground, ALS, BLS, and specialty transport resources based on clinical needs and operational priorities. Serve as the primary liaison among hospital departments, EMS dispatch, transport crews, and referring and receiving facilities to facilitate safe, timely patient transfers. Monitor transport requests from initiation through arrival, provide status updates to staff and families, and collaborate with clinicians to ensure documentation and certifications are complete prior to departure. Prioritize requests based on patient acuity and resource availability while identifying barriers to movement and proactively coordinating solutions. Maintain awareness of transport resource limitations, document interactions accurately, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient throughput and operational efficiency. Work extended shifts in a fast-paced communications-center environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays, while adhering to strict HIPAA compliance and organizational protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic
- Oklahoma licensure or reciprocity
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience
- Unrestricted state driver's license
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work extended shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Experience in hospital case management, patient logistics, transfer center operations, EMS communications, healthcare dispatch, emergency department operations, or critical care transport
- Knowledge of hospital operations, patient flow, utilization management, and healthcare reimbursement principles
- Familiarity with air medical transport, critical care transport, EMS systems, interfacility transfer processes, and reimbursement principles
- Understanding of EMTALA requirements, HIPAA regulations, CMS Conditions of Participation, healthcare accreditation standards, and State Health Department guidelines
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment with physicians, nurses, case managers, EMS personnel, and hospital leadership
