Job Summary
Conduct daily patient visits at host nation facilities within a 45-mile radius of Spangdahlem Air Base, including Marienhausklinik, Verbundkrankenhaus, and Trier hospitals. Provide verbal and written translation between German healthcare providers and American beneficiaries, interpreting emergency reports, discharge instructions, and physician requests. Coordinate admission, disposition, and billing logistics with International SOS, commanders, and host-nation facilities while maintaining HIPAA and German privacy compliance. Manage medical records in CHCS and AHLTA systems, compile statistical reports, and escort VIPs to civilian hospitals upon clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to read, speak, and write English and German languages at a proficiency Level 3 (fluent)
- Be able to provide a significant service as a translator between German healthcare providers and American medical healthcare beneficiaries
- Must possess and maintain a valid German Driver's License and/or USAREUR driver's license
- Shall maintain an understanding/knowledge of both HIPAA and German privacy laws concerning health care
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
