Patient Liaison (HME)

Job Summary
Deliver medical equipment and supplies to patients, teaching them proper use and maintenance while ensuring timely, accurate, and courteous service. Initiate insurance verification, collect financial responsibility, and process payments using electronic tools. Fulfill orders by verifying equipment cleanliness, working order, and correct quantities, then document deliveries and troubleshoot servicing or switch-outs as needed. Conduct sales and service rounds to promote products, increase referral volume, and facilitate cross-selling among business lines. Obtain required medical documentation, prescriptions, and signatures, and coordinate with departments to minimize delivery expenses. Maintain compliance with policies, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines while adhering to PPE and hazardous materials procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of work related to health care, administrative, insurance, customer services, or management regardless of industry
- The exact job experience considered must be DME, Diabetes, Incontinence Sales
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license in the state of residence
- Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers due to extensive computer use
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds as needed
- Physical and mental ability to provide clinical assessments
- Ability to travel independently throughout the service area
- Excellent ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy
- Mental alertness to perform the essential functions of the position
