Patient Liaison (HME)

Job Summary
Deliver medical equipment and supplies to patients in hospitals and homes, ensuring timely, accurate, and courteous service while troubleshooting and servicing devices. Initiate insurance verification, collect payments via electronic tools, and obtain required signatures for delivery tickets, care plans, and liability waivers. Train patients and caregivers on equipment use, maintain clean inventory, and coordinate return of dirty or broken items to repair areas. Conduct sales and service rounds to promote products, increase referral volume, and cross-sell services to healthcare professionals. Obtain medical documentation and prescriptions on-site, verify diagnoses warrant prescribed equipment, and assist the sales team with orientations. Maintain HIPAA compliance, adhere to infection control protocols, and complete assigned training programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of work related to health care, administrative, insurance, customer services, or management regardless of industry
- The exact job experience considered must be DME, Diabetes, Incontinence Sales
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license in the state of residence
- Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers due to extensive computer use
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds as needed
- Physical and mental ability to provide clinical assessments
- Ability to travel independently throughout the service area
- Excellent ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy
- Mental alertness to perform the essential functions of the position
