Job Summary
The Patient Liaison greets patients and visitors in the Emergency Department waiting area and serves as a communication link between staff, patients, and families. Responsibilities include eliciting concerns, coordinating with care teams to meet patient needs, facilitating virtual visits when needed, directing patients to triage/registration/lab, maintaining a welcoming waiting-room environment, and arranging transportation or escort services for discharge. The role emphasizes effective communication, teamwork, problem solving, multitasking, and empathy, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and adherence to hospital policies. Education requirement is GED/HiSET or equivalent, with preferred high school/GED; candidates should demonstrate strong customer service, organizational skills, and the ability to work across shifts (day/night) with rotating holidays, in Springfield, MA.
