Job Summary
Coordinate patient placement and admissions for Marshall Medical Centers South by answering busy phone lines and verifying bed availability in the EMR. Resolve bed flow issues and research physician privileges while maintaining accurate daily census data and isolation patient identification. Collaborate with the Hospital Administrative Supervisor and Environmental Services to optimize room cleans and implement transfer protocols. Provide the affiliate transfer center with a daily physician call schedule at 0600. Produce requested data reports and ensure correct patient identifiers throughout the day.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- One (1) or two (2) years hospital experience performing a variety of patient placement and/or patient flow, bed management functions, or administrative functions with strong interpersonal skills
- Two (2) years medical office administration experience performing administrative tasks or bed management functions with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical thinking skills and problem solving ability
- Excellent organizational & writing skills with flexibility & ability to multi task
