Job Summary
This role involves ensuring that all billable services are accurately billed to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers in compliance with relevant laws. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting medical claims, following up on claims for payment or rejections, securing necessary medical documentation, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining productive relationships with patients and staff. The candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and adhere to HIPPA guidelines while working in a business office environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required.
- One year of insurance billing/medical office experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hospital or clinic billing and follow-up.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue Codes.
- Basic knowledge of major insurance companies billing policies.
- Basic knowledge of insurance claim forms.
- General knowledge in specific specialties within hospital or clinic billing.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience in insurance billing/medical office preferred.
