Job Summary
Perform financial clearance processes by interviewing patients and collecting necessary information for pre-registration, then verify insurance eligibility and document all details in Epic. Confirm covered benefits, exact coverage limits, and patient liabilities for upcoming visits while providing proactive price estimates. Educate patients on pertinent policies, including rights, HIPAA information, and consents, and inform families of financial assistance programs for inadequate coverage. This fully remote contract role requires M-Th hours from 8:30am to 5:00pm with a salary of $19.00. Applicants must have strong insurance verification experience, proficiency with Epic EMRs, and a secure home workspace with at least 20 mbps download speed.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- 6 months experience with Insurance Eligibility and Benefit Verification, Pre-Registration activities in healthcare business office/insurance operations
- Experience working with clinical staff
- Experience working with clinical documentation
- Hard-wired internet connection
- Secure space in home free from background noise
- Internet download speed of at least 20 mbps
- Internet upload speed of at least 5 mbps
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Vocational degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Health, or Related Field of Study
- Previous experience working in outpatient and/or inpatient healthcare settings
- Previous experience working with a patients clinical medical record
