Job Summary
Conduct financial counseling for patients via telephone or in person across admissions, surgeries, and outpatient services. Coordinate billing and collection functions, including co-payments, deductibles, and remaining balances at the point of service. Interview patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid and other government or private sources, then discuss care pricing and current financial situations to resolve accounts. Serve as an advocate by educating patients on insurance benefits and arranging mutually agreeable payment terms. Perform accounts receivable reviews, prepare receipts for payments, and provide report analysis to departments. Maintain clear communication with clinical staff and coordinate with Revenue Management teams to ensure timely resolution of financial clearance and billing issues. Complete all tasks via Electronic Medical Record systems while adhering to federal and state billing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years Healthcare experience
- Associate's Degree (Preferred)
- Travel may be required
