Job Summary
Manage patient accounts through financial clearance, payment collection, and obtaining sponsorship by identifying eligibility and providing education. Submit applications for State and Federal sponsorship programs and assist patients with determinations for Providence St. Joseph Health Financial Assistance. Perform duties reflecting the organization's mission and core values while interacting with patients and families via phone or in person. Requires three years of healthcare business office experience, familiarity with automated account follow-up systems, and knowledge of insurance reimbursement. Full-time, day, onsite role with comprehensive benefits designed to support family and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Two (2) or more years experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
- Minimum of three years experience required, or proven success as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or it's Affiliates
- Two (2) years experience in automated, computerized account follow-up system required, preferably in Epic
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge in reimbursement of health care accounts from insurance companies preferred
- Previous experience with medical and health plan terminology
