Job Summary
Screen accounts, verify insurance eligibility, and collect co-payments for patients in hospital clinics and outpatient areas. Identify financial needs, complete cost estimates, and set up payment arrangements while facilitating Medicaid, Marketplace, or disability applications. Respond to insurance and patient inquiries regarding third-party reimbursement and pre-payment processes. Requires three years of healthcare or administrative customer service experience, knowledge of revenue cycle processes, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years healthcare and/or insurance/third party reimbursement or three years of administrative customer service experience
- High school education or equivalent
- Associate's degree in business administration, healthcare or related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined (one year of education equals one year of experience required)
- Knowledge of hospital and/or professional revenue cycle processes
- Ability to work with diverse customer base through effective verbal and written communication
- Multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of computer-based programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with aptitude for detail-oriented work
- Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute with 95% accuracy
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with both hospital and physician revenue cycle with billing and Epic systems
- Certification through hospital or professional revenue cycle organization
- Membership in hospital or professional revenue cycle organization
