Patient Financial Coordinator

Job Summary

Follow up on outstanding claims with insurance carriers, monitor patient accounts for balances, and collect copays, deductibles, and remaining amounts. Post payments, establish payment arrangements, and perform eligibility and benefits education for patients. Communicate financial policy terms while prioritizing quality customer service and telephone skills in a fast-paced environment. Manage prior authorization and scheduling tasks as needed. This role supports the Billing Department's mission to minimize Accounts Receivable through proactive collections and patient engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Billing Certification
  • Strong experience in medical billing and collections
  • Must be able to understand patient accounts and patient balances
  • Able to communicate terms of Financial Policy to patients
  • Dedication to quality customer service
  • strong interpersonal skills w/ a high degree of empathy
  • exceptional telephone skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Professionalism and commitment to the organization and its mission
  • Must be reliable and punctual

Desired Qualifications

  • College Degree preferred
