Job Summary
Meet with self-pay patients and families to discuss financial resources, assistance applications, and insurance coverage options. Educate patients on deductibles, co-insurance, and estimated costs while helping them establish payment arrangements that align with hospital policies. Coordinate financial support by reviewing responsibilities with physician offices, obtaining insurance pre-authorizations, and explaining benefits to pre-admission patients. Partner with Admissions, Billing, Providers, and Case Management to ensure a seamless patient experience and maintain accurate financial records.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Previous healthcare, insurance, patient access, customer service, financial services, or related experience
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Knowledge of insurance plans, financial assistance programs, and healthcare processes
- Strong organizational, computer, and mathematical skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with patients, families, providers, insurance companies, and community agencies
- Compassionate and patient-focused
