Patient Financial Advocate

Screen patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs, either bedside or in the ER, by reviewing the hospital census to identify self-pay individuals. Initiate application processes directly when possible, introduce patients to Firstsource services, and document all screening results in designated in-house sheets and hospital systems. Assist patients with enrollment applications to appropriate state, county, and federal agencies while maintaining a positive relationship with hospital staff. Conduct outside field work including patient home visits to screen for eligibility, report important occurrences to management, and keep an accurate log of referred accounts. Maintain confidentiality of account information and adhere to prescribed policies and procedures.
