Job Summary
Screen patients on-site at hospitals in Edgewood, KY for eligibility assistance programs, either bedside or in the ER. Review hospital census or referrals to identify self-pay patients, then initiate applications for State, County, and Federal programs. Document screening results in designated sheets and hospital systems, and conduct home visits as required. Maintain positive relationships with hospital staff, report significant changes to management, and keep accurate logs of referred accounts. Work Sunday through Thursday from 9am to 5:30pm with pay up to $19 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time
- Must have basic computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- 1 – 3 years’ experience of medical coding, medical billing, eligibility (hospital or government) or other pertinent medical experience
- Previous customer service experience
- Working on holidays or odd hours
