Patient Experience Coordinator

Job Summary
Answer the telephone to respond to inquiries, direct callers, or create new patient appointments. Confirm appointments, provide pre-visit instructions, and contact patients regarding benefits, co-pays, and coverage for outpatient procedures. Coordinate baseline benefit verification or self-pay options for new patients and respond timely to third-party payer requests. Work with colleagues to verify referrals and radiography. Ensure all patient needs are met from referral through initial appointment. Requires high school diploma, medical office experience, and proficiency with EMR and Microsoft Office. Preferred qualifications include healthcare administration degree, two years of patient care coordination experience, and familiarity with ICD-10 coding and financial counseling.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Prior experience working in a medical or dental office
- Proven ability to access, input, and retrieve information using a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated level of comfort with and ability to quickly learn new software programs and EMR
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration (or related field)
- 2+ years experience as a patient care/medical office coordinator with patient scheduling, insurance verification & billing, and collection experience
- Experience with medical/dental insurances, ICD-10 coding, data entry, appointment/surgery scheduling
- Experience with financial counseling in a medical office
