Job Summary
Monitor and provide accountability to patients in treatment, acting as the primary staff point of contact for daily activities ranging from light fitness classes to recovery lectures. Resolve conflicts, diffuse critical situations, and ensure patient compliance with treatment protocols while interacting regularly with clinical staff. Facilitate non-therapy groups, lead guided meditation and community building, and supervise trips to off-campus 12-step meetings. Maintain presence in the courtyard and meal room, enforce portion control, and perform daily facility cleaning duties. Drive patients to off-campus events when the Van Driver is absent. Work Sunday through Thursday in rotating shifts, earning $19-21 per hour plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- HS, GED or equivalent experience
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license
- 1+ year(s) of experience working with Substance Abuse populations strongly preferred
- Ability to stay calm in stressful or high-risk situations
- Ability to deescalate situations and prevent harm from occurring
- Skilled at solving problems and using critical thinking
- Crisis Intervention Training strongly preferred
- Comfort with conflict required
- Possess the physical ability to run and the strength to disarm/defuse tense situations
- Ability to deadlift/bench press approximately 200 pounds is essential
- Clean driving record for at least 3 years
- Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential
- Authorization to work in the US is required
