Job Summary
Schedule appointments, reschedule missed visits, and check in patients while screening walk-ins. Instruct patients on required documents and available insurance options, then assign primary care providers and assist with Health Plan selections. Conduct follow-ups on submitted applications and renewals, and attend required trainings and meetings. Maintain confidentiality while adhering to attendance and dress code policies. This role supports Vista Community Clinic's mission of delivering patient-centered care across San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum two years' experience in the customer service or social service field, or in community volunteer work
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Effective verbal and written skills necessary for communication, in both English and Spanish, with patients/clients, providers and other staff
- Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including people of all social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and within the constraints of government funded programs
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Ability and willingness to meet the organization's attendance and dress code policies
- Ability to handle confidential materials and information in a professional manner
- Experience/familiarity with computers, business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilities and proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
