Job Summary
Educates patients and families as a nurse educator in pediatric hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant, applying teaching-learning theory and life-style counseling to tailor instructions for patients across ages; develops and updates educational information for patients and staff; serves as a resource to nursing staff and community; integrates new techniques and evidence-based practices; documents assessments, education, learning barriers, and responses; maintains strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication; requires ability to lift and assist with patients/equipment and English proficiency; BSN preferred and RN licensure with BLS are required or as applicable by state; position located in Levine Children’s Hospital 11P Hem/Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (LCH).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- RN license in the state where you work
- BLS certification
- 2 years of experience in the clinical specialty
- BSN preferred or higher
- Professional certification in the field within 2 years if not currently certified
