Job Summary
Coordinate and schedule appointments for initial consults, treatment plans, and outpatient diagnostic services across multiple locations and services. Review medical records, appointment lists, and scanned documents to ensure completeness for thorough evaluations. Interface with nursing staff regarding appointment appropriateness and obtain preauthorizations as required. Monitor patient cancellations, process them timely, and utilize wait lists to improve access for new and established patients. Provide quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, medical staff, and clinicians ensuring courteous and respectful treatment. Perform all aspects of the Patient Access Rep position as needed. Requires minimum two years of patient scheduling/registration experience in healthcare. Full-time role with independent action capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of previous patient scheduling/registration work experience in a healthcare setting
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Strong customer service skills

Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) years' work experience with medical insurance, HMO, managed care, GE/IDX, Cerner order entry; appointment scheduling and medical terminology
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or closely related field
