Job Summary
Patient & Community Engagement Specialist to strengthen relationships between NMHSI health centers, patients, and communities. Responsibilities include leading patient engagement initiatives, coordinating outreach campaigns and care-gap communications, developing patient-friendly educational materials, assisting with Medicaid enrollment and navigation, creating and managing communications (website content, social media, press releases, marketing materials), serving as primary media contact, representing NMHSI at community events, building partnerships with schools and local organizations, coordinating outreach activities to connect individuals with healthcare services, and supporting grant writing, fundraising, and quality improvement projects. Ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years in healthcare/communications/community outreach with strong writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and digital platforms; grant writing preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public health, healthcare administration, nonprofit management, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in healthcare, communications, marketing, community outreach, nonprofit, or customer service settings
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms
