Job Summary
Serves as a member of the Hospice IDG and provides respite services to assigned patients and families. Responsibilities include implementing appropriate interventions for death and dying, providing emotional support and compassionate care, documenting services provided, and coordinating efforts with the Volunteer Coordinator when necessary. A Hospice training program is required, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. The role involves exposure to various environmental conditions and necessitates good interpersonal skills and emotional stability.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED, preferred
- Completes Hospice training program
- Willingness to work as a Hospice team member
- Demonstrated knowledge and well-developed communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with volunteering, grief, and/or bereavement
Additional Requirements
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices
- Must have a current valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance
- Must have reliable transportation
