Job Summary
Observe and document the health and behavioral status of individuals, take and record vital signs, and maintain accurate documentation. Implement planned patient care programs, prepare and distribute materials for therapeutic activities, and validate the Medication Administration Record prior to administering medications as ordered. Exercise appropriate safety measures for self and individuals, report unusual symptoms and reactions to the RN immediately, and intervene with verbal and physical measures to prevent injuries. Work cooperatively with others to establish successful working relations while maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED
- One (1) year of work experience in a related field
- Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) licensure applicable to The State of Texas
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) licensure applicable to The State of Texas
- Current EMT Basic licensure applicable to The State of Texas
- Current Advanced Emergency Med Tech (AEMT) licensure applicable to The State of Texas
- Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) licensure applicable to The State of Texas
- Current LVN licensure applicable to The State of Texas
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of individual care
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Skill in the operation of therapeutic equipment and other tools used in patient care
- Skill in the operation of computers and applicable computer software
- Ability to plan, assess, and provide individual care
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Good oral and written communication skills
- A level of general health which permits the performance of job duties
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
