Job Summary

Monitor vital signs, take blood glucose measurements, and record intake and output under RN supervision. Assist patients with personal care activities including bathing, grooming, and eating. Report abnormal findings to nursing staff and maintain clean, orderly patient rooms. Manage unit workflow with charge RN, validate daily census lists, and answer call lights using appropriate telephone etiquette. Prioritize tasks quickly as unit needs change and serve as liaison between patient care units and other departments. This casual day shift position operates 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in 8-hour blocks with no holidays. Candidates must hold a high school diploma, CNA certification, or relevant clinical training plus BLS certification.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or nursing school students with one semester of clinical completed
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program
  • Graduate of Phlebotomy course
