Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for direct and indirect care of patients, assisting nursing staff with daily routines, conducting hourly patient rounds, and reporting observations. The role includes clerical duties, effective use of electronic health records, supporting the admission process, vital signs collection, maintaining nursing supplies, and ensuring patient safety. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a current BLS card, and the ability to work with various patient age groups.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent within one year of hire
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider card
- Able to work with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Desired Qualifications
- EMT
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Medical Assistant
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in data entry or typing
- Previous clerical experience
- Fluent knowledge of medical terminology
