Job Summary
Perform multi-skilled activities under direct Registered Nurse supervision to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach in the PICU. Execute daily patient care tasks including monitoring vitals, administering medications, and assisting with transfers while maintaining continuous standing, sitting, and walking postures. Maintain rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays, adhering to a 36-hour weekly schedule. Ensure all Basic Life Support certification requirements are met within two weeks of hire and kept current thereafter.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- ONE of the following requirements must be met: Associate or Bachelor's degree
- At least 1 year work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility
- Active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution
- Active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution
- Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 2 weeks of hire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
