Job Summary
Assist the professional nurse in patient care tasks including phlebotomy, fingersticks, and electrocardiograms while maintaining unit safety and cleanliness. Support admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, run errands for specimens and equipment, and ensure necessary supplies are present in patient rooms. Answer call lights promptly, provide personal care assistance, and report observations to the registered nurse. Complete delegated responsibilities, participate in unit meetings, and maintain confidentiality and respect for patient dignity.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience
- CNA graduate plus course completion in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible plus at least 6 months hospital experience
- PCT Certification through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) with at least 6 months hospital experience
- BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA)
- Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA)
- Working knowledge of English
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic Life Support Cert
