Job Summary
Assist the professional nurse in patient care tasks, including phlebotomy, fingersticks, and electrocardiograms. Provide support for admission, transfer, and discharge procedures while maintaining unit cleanliness and ensuring supplies are present. Respond promptly to patient call lights, manage personal care requests, and report observations to the registered nurse. Complete delegated responsibilities, collect data for quality improvement programs, and participate in unit meetings and conferences. Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate core values in all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience
- CNA graduate plus course completion in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible plus at least 6 months hospital experience
- PCT Certification through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) with at least 6 months hospital experience
- BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA)
- Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA)
- Working knowledge of English
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic Life Support Cert
