Patient Care Technician- Respiratory Care Unit-FT Evening VBMH

Assist in patient care delivery by performing specific tasks per scope of service and as directed by the Registered Nurse. Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and blood glucose testing; report abnormalities and condition changes promptly. Demonstrate competence in advanced skills including oral suctioning, tube feeding set-up, and post-mortem care. Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to share information and solve problems, documenting legibly on hospital forms. Provide personalized care to patients and families while identifying special needs. Maintain unit cleanliness by cleaning treatment rooms, kitchens, and nursing stations. Adhere to infection control practices, safety policies, and the REACH Values. Assist with code situations under the direction of the Code Blue Team. Maintain regular, reliable attendance. Requires high school diploma or GED; AHA BLS certification required within 90 days. Minimum of three months experience or junior semester in nursing program preferred.
