Job Summary
Bedside PCA role supporting RNs in a hospital setting; responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, meal assistance, providing comfort items, ensuring patient safety with gait belts and alarms, obtaining vital signs, reporting abnormalities to the RN, and maintaining a clean, orderly patient environment while functioning as a non-licensed team member. Requires BLS certification and the ability to handle interruptions and high workload; positions available as part-time and PRN in Indianapolis, IN.
Required Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Ability to perform activities of daily living and mobility assistance
- Ability to obtain and maintain BLS certification per unit/policy
- Knowledge of patient care activities and infection control principles
- Ability to read and perform basic math
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage high workload
- Non-licensed role providing care under RN direction
