Job Summary
Obtain vital signs, measurements, and assist with activities of daily living as delegated by licensed nursing staff. Document all patient care and assignments per department guidelines. Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while communicating specific needs to the health care team. Act as a courier between ancillary departments and perform clerical duties including serving as a receptionist, managing telephones, and organizing supplies. Ensure patient equipment is clean, organized, and properly restocked. This Patient Care Technician role supports the Burn Center at Arkansas Children's Hospital, a nationally ranked pediatric institution dedicated to child care excellence.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1 year of experience in a related field
- 1 year of experience as a technician
- Clinical experience
- Completion of a semester of healthcare curriculum
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Arkansas Department of Long Term Care
- Registered Medical Assistant
- Flu vaccines are required
- This position has been designated as safety sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana
