Patient Care Technician Preceptor - PCT - Dialysis

Job Summary
Conduct dialysis treatments by cannulating vascular access, administering heparin, and monitoring patient vitals and response to therapy. Perform pre- and post-treatment evaluations, document treatment parameters, and calculate ultrafiltration goals. Educate patients on adequacy measures, disease processes, and self-care while assisting with transitional care for new patients. Train and mentor new clinical staff through orientation, competency audits, and ongoing education on infection control and regulatory compliance. Maintain equipment safety, clean work environments, and coordinate lab specimen collection. Report patient condition changes and unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or its equivalent
- Valid PCT national certification or state specific certification as defined by Center for Medicaid/Medicare (CMS)
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- At least five years patient care experience in a hospital
- Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards
- Attendance and active participation in all applicable preceptor training programs as established by education leadership
- Attends Fresenius and publicly offered skill-based training as assigned by Clinical Manager
- Must be able to lift and to lower solutions on a frequent basis of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to lift and to lower solutions on an occasional basis up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to push and/or pull equipment, exerting up to 15 pounds of force
- Must be able to perform the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
- Must be able to travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community
- Must be able to travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings
