Patient Care Technician - Perinatal Mother/Baby

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a trained unit-based team member supporting ongoing delivery of care under the supervision of an RN within the maternal-infant division. The PCT performs tasks that do not require a license or professional judgment and must pass required competencies. Responsibilities include greeting and screening visitors, admitting out-patient babies for procedures and maternal consults, assisting with chart preparation and entry, ensuring security and appropriate access within the unit, coordinating visits, handling admissions and rooming processes, and performing duties to support high-volume maternal-infant patient services while adhering to unit standards and policies. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of a patient care technician course within 3 months of employment; CPR certification/licensure is preferred.
