Job Summary
Assist the professional nurse in patient care tasks including phlebotomy, fingersticks, and electrocardiograms. Support admission, transfer, and discharge procedures while maintaining unit cleanliness and ensuring safety of supplies and equipment. Answer call lights promptly to provide assistance with personal care and activity, and report observations to the registered nurse. Collect data for quality and performance improvement programs, including patient satisfaction measures. Respond to requests for specific tasks as delegated by any registered professional nurse.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Patient Care Technician certification
- CNA certification
- BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification
- 6 months hospital experience
- Course completion in EKG & Phlebotomy
- PCT Certification through National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Working knowledge of English
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Completion of PCT online program within 3 months of hire
