Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Vascular Unit

Job Summary
Provide patient care, support activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and Foley catheter insertion/removal on the Vascular Unit under the direction of an RN. Observes and reports changes in patients’ condition. Requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and credentialing options such as CNA/NCMA/NCPCT/Navy Hospital Corps School or equivalent clinical experience; BLS within 90 days of hire. Full-time positions include Day (7:00am-7:00pm) and Night (7:00pm-7:00am) shifts with rotating weekends/holidays; 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week). Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) AND one of the following is required: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, or Successful completion of the CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, Current student enrolled in a clinical program (beyond prerequisites) having completed at least one semester of RN/LPN/RT/PT program, or Current work experience within the last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
