Job Summary
Provide basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, including sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and feeding. Act as a liaison between patients and nurses to report changes or concerns while delivering high-level customer service to patients, families, and visitors. Maintain accurate, precise, and timely documentation for patient care and participate in hand-off reports regarding patient and departmental needs. Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated and mobilize patients using therapeutic transfer techniques to foster independence and safety. Schedule is 36 weekly hours in full-time days. BLS certification is preferred upon hire, and nursing aide training or CNA certification is required.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
- Successful completion of nursing aide training program
- Successful passing of STNA State Tested Nurse Aide (required if OH LTC)
- CNA Certified Nurse Aide
- Nurses Aide state testing
- Completed a nursing program that had one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation
- 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting
- Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility
Desired Qualifications
- Preference for the setting in which they are applying
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
