Job Summary
Provide patient care, support admissions and discharge processes, and comply with patient safety practices under the direct supervision of a professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions, reporting any changes to nursing staff. This part-time role requires 24 hours per week on the nights shift at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center's Medical Telemetry Unit in Elizabeth City, NC. AHA BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire, with a high school diploma or equivalent education plus one of several accepted healthcare certifications. One year of healthcare experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- HS - High School Grad or Equivalent
- Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
- completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School
- Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic
- current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT)
- current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant
- AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- One year of health care experience preferred
