Job Summary
Perform assigned patient care duties including hygiene, comfort, rest, mobility, and elimination support under RN/LPN supervision. Assist with patient procedures, admissions, transfers, and discharges while documenting intake, output, and observations accurately. Operate clinical devices such as oxygen, suction equipment, and emergency carts; transport patients safely and collect specimens. Observe and report significant patient or environmental information to nursing staff. Adhere to Standard Precautions, infection control procedures, and hospital policies to maintain a safe environment. Work in a facility-based operating unit float pool across various clinical areas based on patient volume and acuity. Requires BLS certification and high school diploma; previous healthcare experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification
- Must be able to lift 36-75 lbs
- Must be able to lift 20-35 lbs
- Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs max
- Must be able to carry objects up to 35 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk
- Must be able to sit
- Must be able to perform close eye work
- Must be able to work in environments with blood-borne pathogen exposure
- Must be able to work in environments with bio-hazardous waste
- Must be able to work in environments with chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors
- Must be able to work in environments with communicable diseases
- Must be able to work in environments with electrical shock risk
- Must be able to work in environments with floor surface hazards
- Must be able to work in environments with hot/cold temperatures
- Must be able to work in indoor/outdoor conditions
- Must be able to work with latex
- Must be able to work with lighting variations
- Must be able to work with patient care/handling injuries
- Must be able to work with radiation
- Must be able to work shift work
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment, including respirators
