Job Summary
Provide basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, including sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with feeding, grooming, and mobility. Measure vital signs, perform personal care and hygiene, and use therapeutic transfer techniques to foster patient independence. Act as a liaison between patients and nurses to report changes or concerns while providing accurate documentation and high-level customer service to patients, families, and visitors. Participate in hand-off reports regarding patient and departmental needs. Obtain Basic Life Support certification prior to direct patient care and complete required nursing aide training or state testing.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
- Successful completion of nursing aide training program
- Successful passing of STNA State Tested Nurse Aide (required if OH LTC)
- CNA Certified Nurse Aide
- Nurses Aide state testing
- Completed a nursing program that had one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation
- 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting
Desired Qualifications
- Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility, with a preference for the setting in which they are applying
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
