Patient Care Technician (PCT) | Med Surg

Provide safe and direct patient care including ambulating, bathing, positioning, and feeding patients while responding promptly to call lights and special needs. Manage routine tasks such as entering diet information, passing meal trays, measuring intakes and outputs, collecting specimens, and maintaining orderly patient rooms with linens and cleaning. Coordinate appointments, prepare requisitions for diagnostic services, handle interdepartmental mail, and assist with gifts and messages. Perform clerical duties for admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring patient valuables are accounted for. Work flexible day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts with a 48-hour two-week rotation including every fourth weekend and third holiday. Maintain confidentiality and uphold Avera's core values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship within a multidisciplinary team environment.
