Job Summary
Provide basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, including sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with feeding, grooming, and mobility. Act as the liaison between patients and nurses to report changes or concerns while delivering accurate, precise, and timely documentation. Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated, utilizing therapeutic transfer techniques to foster patient independence and safety. Maintain high-level customer service for patients, families, visitors, and staff, and participate in hand-off reports regarding patient and departmental needs. Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to direct patient care.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
- Successful completion of nursing aide training program
- Successful passing of STNA State Tested Nurse Aide (required if OH LTC)
- CNA Certified Nurse Aide
- Nurses Aide state testing
- Completed a nursing program that had one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation
- 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical setting
- Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility
Desired Qualifications
- Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility, with a preference for the setting in which they are applying
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
