Job Summary
Functions as part of the dialysis health care team under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to operate and monitor hemodialysis therapy. Responsible for the setup and operation of dialysis machines, patient education on adequacy measures (OLC, AMP, UKM), evaluation of vascular access and cannulation, administering heparin as delegated, obtaining pre/post treatment vitals and weight, initiating and terminating dialysis treatment, documenting treatment data, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and participating in CQI activities to improve patient outcomes. Requires a High School diploma or GED, CMS-approved certifications, and state licensure/training as applicable; CPR certification is required and supported through the organization. Preferred prior patient care experience in a hospital or related facility; must complete dialysis training program. Fresenius Medical Care emphasizes safety, infection control, data recording, and teamwork to deliver quality dialysis care.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- CPR certification (successful completion)
