Job Summary
Functions as part of the dialysis health care team, assisting in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines under direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities include patient-related education on adequacy measures, managing treatment parameters (QB/QD), monitoring vital signs and weight, evaluating vascular access, cannulation, heparin administration as allowed, and documenting treatment data. Requires infection control practices, environmental safety, CQI participation, and training completion in the organization’s dialysis program. Also supports transitions of care, patient education on home dialysis options, and coordination with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient outcomes. Education/licensing per CMS guidelines; expected to perform duties in a hospital/healthcare facility setting with travel between facilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required
- CPR certification
